Hello everyone!
I hope you're all well and have had a lovely summer wherever you may be! Here in London we had a good summer compared to normal but we still had some rain...otherwise it wouldn't be a true British summer ;)
Don't worry though this post is all about sunshine! The nail polish I'll be writing about is actually called 'sunshine' because we need sunshine every now and again!
The nail varnish as mentioned above is called Sunshine #280....as soon as I saw the colour I thought it was lovely and would instantly update your look and of course compliment your tan!
As always I removed my other nail polish, applied a base coat (to protect the nail) and started painting my nails with Sunshine!
I have to say, at first it didn't go on as I expected, the colour was dull but I don't jump to conclusions straight away and let my first coat dry before applying another coat.....with the second coat there was a dramatic difference, the colour was brighter and more noticeable.....I liked....a lot!
I let my nails dry for about 10 minutes before thinking I wanted it just that little bit brighter and more noticeable so I applied a third coat and as you can see below it was noticeable.
( My nails are shinier in real than what the picture is showing.)
I love doing different and sometimes weird designs on my nails but I can't help but think you could do little bees ( I did say I like weird designs....I think it's cute) others will read this and think 'bee designs...is she for real!?' My answer: 'yes' :)
The lasting finish collection from Rimmel normally lasts 2-3 days with no chips appearing, if you don't do any washing up I'd say about 4 pushing it to 5 days but of course we all do washing up (unfortunately).
The other thing I loved with this colour is the fact it's not seen around that much, it's rare and I liked the way a lot of people noticed it and commented on how nice it looked....especially the cashier at the bank! She said it was a lovely colour and not something you normally see like the reds, darks and nudes.
Packaging/bottle.
Well there isn't really much to say about the packaging because every nail polish comes in the same glass container. The writing is obviously very clear to read and I love the way Rimmel have put the little heart on the bottle, I think it's a cute little touch and makes it that little bit more special and girlie!
Verdict.
Well as the other nail varnishes from Rimmel, I love the colours and the wand is really good as in all the Rimmel nail polishes. No bristles come out whilst you're doing your nails (which is sooooo annoying) theres no streaking, just even coats of colour!
The colour from Rimmel is lovely and for a high street brand you really can't go wrong, as mentioned in a previous post instead of paying £13.99 for one bottle of luxury nail polish (which still chips within 3 days) you can buy 2 or 3 different colours from Rimmel or any other brand at superdrug or boots and you can have fun with the variety. That's what I say anyway! :)
The only thing I would say is you definitely need a top coat over this colour because it's so bright you don't see it's real shine...so definitely apply a top coat!
I would give this nail polish 8/10 only because it needed 3 coats to get to the brightness I wanted it.
You can buy Rimmel lasting finish (with the cute little heart) for £2.99 from Superdrug! Buy 2 or 3 different colours and be creative! :)
