Maxfactor Colour Elixir Lipstick review - RUBY TUESDAY!!

Last winter it was all about the deep berry, deep plum colours, this year it's all about RED!

What a better way to show you why you should wear a red lipstick.....I'm going to be writing a review on Maxfactor's Colour Elixir in colour: RUBY TUESDAY (what an adorable name) I actually love what it's called. It makes the lipstick sound luxurious....ruby tuesday....what do you think?

Maxfactor Colour Elixire Lipstick Review - Ruby Tuesday!

I tried this the day after I received it, I kept my eyes simple with a little bit of eyeliner, I always play up my eyes or my lips...NEVER both!

When I applied it the feeling was smooth and nourishing. It actually felt like applying a lipbalm.

I was in love with the colour too, it was a luxurious, rich, deep red, the red that suits all the skintones, the red that makes your teeth whiter and the red that pulls a look together which makes you look and feel gorgeous!

Now was the real test....to face the day ahead and see how long it lasts!!

I cannot help myself and at some point throughout the day will stop off for a coffee or a hot chocolate at either Costa coffee or Starbucks which normally includes a muffin or a panini....bad Layla!

After my drink and muffin I checked my mirror to make sure I hadn't smudged my lipstick resulting to look like the joker from Batman....luckily I hadn't but the lipstick had faded and needed another touch-up.

I don't mind touching up my make-up throughout the day but if you want to apply once, go out and forget about your makeup I would recommend wearing this during an evening or night out as you will check your make-up at some point throughout the night.

Packaging.
I absolutely love the packaging, the gold makes it look really expensive almost like a luxury brand. I also like how the colour is shown in the bottom like a little block of colour (pictured above).

The thing that really stood out and made me think this lipstick was really cool was the design on the actual lipstick....I don't think I've ever seen a lipstick with a design on the side of it. The design is the X from the Maxfactor logo. (Again pictured above)

Verdict.
I'm going to be giving this an 8/10.
It's really luxurious and keeps lips hydrated. The colour does last throughout the day but if you eat or drink coffee like me then you will need to re-touch it to keep it looking good.
This is definitely a must have for the winter if you follow the make-up trends, red is big this winter and teamed with a simple eye liner flick you'll look wonderful!!

Plus this could be a lovely little stocking filler for the make-up lovers!

You can buy this from Boots for £7.99.

Also make sure you check out the Maxfactor website for the latest news on any new products and for more colours.

Let me know what you think.... always love hearing from you!

Quick, Gorgeous Eye Make-up!!

Well I've had a few busy days but I do have a lovely little post for you all!

The other day I wanted to use two different kohl pencils to create a different look so I looked in my make-up drawer and found two colourful pencils...a green one and a purple one!!

Don't ask about the pose! :)
Now I know some of you may be saying huh....green and purple but I can assure you it looks gorgeous! Plus this is easy to re-create on your own, they're high street brands at good prices and very good quality!!

Peruna (Marks and Spencer) Kohl Pencil - Double sided.

BarryM Soft Pencil Eyeliner.

I applied my make-up as normal and when it came to the eyes I took the green pencil and did a line along my upper lashline....I went over it 2-3 times to get a really defined colour.
(As we know green makes the white of the eye whiter so it's good to use!)

Once I was happy with the green line I took my purple pencil and did another line above the green colour and again went over it 2-3 times to get a more defined colour!
That's it!!! haha yes it's actually that simple.

The finished look...you can see the green line more but if you look closely you can see the purple just above it!

See!! In a matter of minutes you can have a gorgeous, easy look. Pick two of your favourite colours and re-create the look!

Do you like colours to compliment each other like a gold and brown colour or do you like colours to clash and make a statement link fuschia and blue!?

Let me know!!

P.S - Don't forget about the competition....100 followers on here and I'll be sending out 5 gorgeous Goody bags with MAKEUP!!!  :)

The cutest beauty gift!!

Hello everyone! Hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend!
I saw the coolest thing today and instantly knew I had to post it on here for you to see haha!
Gigantic Vaseline!!!!

At first glance I actually thought it was a massive version of the little vaseline but once I opened it I realised it wasn't :(
It was 4 individual vaselines...the Original one (blue)  rose lips (pink) Cocoa Butter (brown) and Aloe Vera (Green)
This would make a really lovely present for beauty junkies because it can be used for soooo many different things!!!
  • Use the original one for keeping eyebrows smooth and in place.
  • The pink one to get a really subtle pink glow on your cheek if you've run out of cheek tint.
  • The brown one for when you need extra moisture as it has the lovely cocoa butter in it.
  • Finally the green aloe vera for your lips everyday!
Each one has a use and as christmas is coming soon it's never too early to start buying gifts for your family or friends!!
Plus it even comes in pink!!!
Adorable!!
You can buy it from Superdrug for £6.99.

Let me know what you think of it! :)

Nail trends!! Rimmel nail polish!

Hello everyone! Hope you're all well and enjoying the blog :)

Just a quick post for you all as I want to show you my nails haha!

As I've mentioned in previous posts I love colourful nails so I decided to mix it up a little and do the ring finger trend!
This means painting every nail the same apart from your ring finger and painting that a different colour so I chose.............................Purple and Yellow :)

Rimmel nail polish: Ring finger trend!!
I actually love it! It stands out and I had a compliment from a lady who said she liked my nails and thought it was really cool that I added a twist, that put a big smile on my face!

Cute Nail Polish!!! Trends.
To get this look I used the Rimmel products pictured. The Prowear varnish (#312 ultra violet) and the Lasting finish (yellow-which I did a post on...#280 sunshine).

Let me know what you think!
Email me pictures of what colours you would put together, any cute designs you've done and I'll pick some I like and post them on here :)

Lots of love!

Rimmel and Kate Moss' lipstick collection review!

Hey everyone,

I know it's quite late but I can't sleep so decided I would write another review. This one is going to be for Rimmel and Kate Moss' Lipsticks in #05.

Rimmel's Kate Moss Lipstick Range #05
When I got this sent through I was so excited to try it out even though I don't wear lipsticks that much...I normally wear lipglosses or lipbalm as I focus more on my eyes but I decided to try a few days by keeping the eyes simple and having the 'pop' of colour on my lips.

I'll tell you something, it seems to make me get ready and out of the house quicker as I don't have to spend 10 minutes focusing on my eyes! All I do is a apply a little bit of mascara, bronzer/blusher and the lipstick...done!

I have to say I'm very impressed with the lipsticks. The colour is lovely and suits my skintone, it's not a bright pink but it is noticeable as you can see in the photos below....beware- I am pulling a stupid face haha :)

See it's not a bright pink but it is noticeable.

A smile for you all! :)

Subtle shine but a beautiful, funky colour.
Another thing I have to mention is that this lipstick smells and tastes of sweeties which made me love this sooooo much more than any other lipstick I've tried yet!!

This keeps lips smooth and doesn't dry them out if you wear it everyday but I always apply a vaseline or lipbalm, I make my own lipbalm so use that or vaseline, before applying lipstick to make sure my lips stay smooth and hydrated!

Here are a few tips to keeping lips looking and feeling gorgeous.
  • Always apply a lipbalm or vaseline before applying lipstick.
  • Use an old toothbrush with a bit of vaseline or your fave lipbalm on your lips and gently 'exfoliate' the lips.
  • Or you can try sugar on a damp hand towel and gently 'exfoliate' your lips.(Recommended)
I love the last method as you use natural ingredients that are always in the house. I use this method on myself and on models before photoshoots if they have really dry lips or just for a smoother effect if they're required to wear a really strong, bold colour!

Packaging.
The packaging on this is so simple yet adorable. I love Kate's signature with the little heart. It adds a real girlie touch and looks lovely in make-up bags.
I also liked the little pink sticker telling you the number of the lipstick on the bottom!

Kate's Signature with the little heart on the end.
Sticker on the bottom telling you the product number.

Verdict.
I'm going to be giving this a 9/10. It lasts for a while if you don't eat or drink but if you're like me and love 'coffee breaks' and 'snacks' throughout the day then you will need to keep re-applying as it doesn't have the best staying power!
Colour wise it's gorgeous, it's not too bright but is noticeable and if you like to add a 'pop' of colour and run out the house I would recommend this range especially as it tastes of sweeties! Who can resist sweets!?

You can buy yours from Superdrug for £5.49 so make sure you head down to your local store and check out the other shades too!!

Make sure you check out Rimmel's website for the latest gossip and here you can check out the latest from Kate Moss' photoshoot for the Rimmel Lipstick: http://www.rimmellondon.com/uk/ourfaces/exclusivecontent/kate-moss-lipstick-collection/

Let me know if you've tried the lipsticks..tell me the colour and what you thought of it! :)

MaxFactor Ageless Elixir 2-in-1 Foundation and Serum review!

Hello everyone, I hope you've all had a lovely weekend wherever you are!

Before I start my review I would just like to mention that I DID NOT give permission to anyone other than Gemma who runs the fan sites for Blue to use the photos from my blog from the Terence Trout fashion show.
I uploaded them onto here to share the news with my readers and the next morning realised they had been taken and were used on various sites without me giving my permission.
I am dissappointed but there isn't much I can do at this stage.

On a happier note the review I will be writing about is MaxFactor's Ageless Elixir 2-in-1 foundation and serum.
Maxfactor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 foundation.

As soon as I saw the foundation on the back of my hand I realised it was one shade lighter than my skintone but little me being me I still wanted to try it (nothing a bit of bronzer can't fix)
I applied it to my skin and immediately loved the feel of it, the texture of the foundation was silky smooth and left my skin feeling gorgeous. Looking at the product again I realised this was probably because of the serum in it.
I also like the way it has SPF15 in it which helps protect our skin against daily UV damage. Bonus!

Ageless Elixir
Ageless Elixir does what it says, it provides you with full coverage so any age spots you may have will get covered but don't think fine lines and wrinkles will dissappear, it'll just make them look smoother.
Don't apply a lot in one go, just take it easy and blend it in to the skin bit by bit and build up the coverage slowly, this way you'll get a natural look with just the right amount of coverage that you want.
I wouldn't recommend this foundation for teens or early 20's skin types as it's better suited for over 30's because it's main purpose is to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and to make you look younger.
I tried this on my mama and it made her look radiant and really healthy, she doesn't need much coverage but this really suited her skin type and she also loved how smooth it made her skin feel!
It lasted all day and there wasn't any shine, I actually think it looked better as the day went on.
Now I know I really should have a picture on here of my mamas skin but she's a little bit camera shy and won't let me take any photos of her but take it from me, she looks good! :)
Packaging.
Like the Xperience foundation I love the way MaxFactor have a little clear box on it to show you the colour of the product with the name and number underneath.

2 in 1 Foundation and serum
It really does make it easy for people to pick out their shade plus it show's Maxfactor have put in that extra thought for their customers!

Verdict.
I'm going to give this an 8/10 as it's not really suitable for every skin type.
As mentioned above this is ideal for skin over 30's or for people with fine lines and wrinkles that want to look younger.
I like the little extras such as the serum and SPF 15 as I feel that a lot of people will really benefit from this product because it has things that helps protect our skin from the day-to-day stresses!
Make sure you all check out Maxfactor's website where you will be able to choose your shade for the foundation and lots more throughout the website! :)
I think this link takes you straight to the Ageless Elixir foundation: http://www.maxfactor.co.uk/uk/products/Face/Foundations/helix/detail.aspx
Keep checking back for more posts and reviews! :)

Terence Trout Fashion Show With Blue!!!!!

Hey everyone, I hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend so far!!
It feels like I haven't been on here in ages but I actually logged in early hours of this morning to edit my 'Recent Work' page because I was at Terence Trout's fashion show last night for fashion week!

What a wonderful show it was, yes I had to go through a lot of models (and make-up) but I loved every single minute of it!!

The highlight of my night was doing Blue's Make-up....yep the boyband....or manband...I don't know what they prefer but I'll stick to boyband!!

I'll stop typing now and upload some photos for you as that's going to be the best part of this post I think....

Duncan James, Me and Lee Ryan.
Lee Ryan and Me.
Me and Simon Webbe.
Antony Costa.

Lee Ryan.

Duncan James.
For more photos on the Terence Trout Fashion show check out my 'Recent work' page, more photos will be added during the week and my website gallery will also be updated.

Before saying goodnight I'd just like to mention how lovely and down to earth the boys are, they were more than happy to have their photo taken, easy to talk to and just generally nice lads to be around.

Hope you all enjoyed that post, make sure to keep checking back in the next few days as my next Make-up review should be Rimmel's GlamEyes Quad shadow.

Oh, also some random/useless info for you all...since last night I haven't been able to get Blue songs out of my head hahaha!!! See I told you it was useless info!!!! :p

Maxfactor false lash effect fusion review!

Hey guys, hope you're all well and having a lovely evening. As I mentioned in my earlier post I said I would be writing about Maxfactors false lash effect fusion, volume and length mascara.

So here it is...the review!

When I got sent the Maxfactor mascara I had a feeling it would be a good product as I had used an older version and liked it but still my all-time favourite mascara is YSL faux cils effect.....nothing has beaten it so far!

Maxfactor fusion mascara review
Immediately I liked the look...it was a bright purple - eyecatching!!
I normally look at bright or sparkly things (yes including gorgeous jewellery...what girl doesn't!?) whatever looks boring or lacks colour I don't tend to look at....in a way I'm like a big kid...colours, glitter and sparkles I love! If I wear black I have to have a brightly coloured bag or statement necklace but getting back to the point.....I loved the colour and look of the mascara!

Looking at the bottom of the tube however...oh oh....brown/black!
I never, ever wear brown/black mascara...only because my eyelashes are so dark anyway I need to wear a dark mascara to define them more otherwise nothing shows up on them....or so I thought and as I received the parcel from Maxfactor in the morning I thought I'd try it out!

I applied two coats on each of my upper lashes and it didn't look bad at all, no clumps..just lovely, defined, long lashes!
I was seriously impressed at how defined and dark my lashes looked considering it said brown/black as the colour....it may as well have just said black.

I applied another two coats and it looked really good...I've taken a picture of my lashes just for you to see.. I am wearing MAC's smoulder eyeliner and a natural coloured Smashbox eyeshadow from one of their kits I bought from QVC.
(No phototouching or airbrushing has gone on in the photo....these are my NATURAL lashes!)

Im watching you...haha just kidding :p

The wand is lovely, it's not a full wand like normal it's like a comb with very deliacte spikes that brush each lash giving you a lovely defined clump-free look (best way I can describe it) but I do have a photo below so you can see what I mean!!

A close-up! Very delicate spikes that comb through the lashes leaving you with no clumps!
Packaging.
As I've mentioned above it's a gorgeous electric purple and it caught my eye...this will look gorgois in your make-up kit, handbag, clutch yeah you get the point...it'll look good!

Verdict.
I'm going to give this an 8/10. It defined my lashes and left them looking lovely but I did have to re-apply throughout the day!
This is definitely a good product, I would recommend this without a doubt and for the price you can't really go wrong!

You can pick this up at Superdrug for £11.99 or Boots for the same price..wherever you prefer really! :)

Make sure you check out Maxfactor's website for the latest product info at: http://www.maxfactor.com/

Let me know what you think....love or hate....I want to hear from you! :)

Lots of love...Layla xx

Rimmel fix and perfect primer review!

Well I'm sitting on my bed with my netbook and havn't been able to think straight all day but I really want to write on my blog and tell you about a lovely new product I got sent by Rimmel because it's a new must-have that should be in every make-up junkie's kit!

It's the new Rimmel fix and perfect primer! I know I did an older post about Maybelline's primer and in no way am I saying it's not good because it is but this (Rimmel's) primer has a different texture and I wanted to write about it!! :)

Fix and Perfect primer.

Let me start by saying I didn't think it would be as good as it is...when I first put it on my skin it was like I was wearing moisturiser but the after effect is what's best! Letting it sink into my skin for a few minutes I loved how soft and smooth it made my skin feel...it didn't feel greasy but being used to Maybelline's primer it felt a lot lighter hence why it has more of a moisturiser feel to it.

I put on my foundation and it blended wonderfully....my foundation looked smooth and even with a newfound glow/healthiness look to my face! I was happy and surprised at how good this primer was.

It lasted the whole day and I have to say it did keep my face matte but around my nose and chin there was a little bit of shine....nothing a bit of powder or shine paper can't handle but it didn't keep my face 100% shine free.

Between the two primers I have blogged about I can't decide which I prefer only because they are so different from each other.
I'm going to draw up a little (mini) bulletpoint thing for each one.

Rimmel Primer.
  • Feels light like a moisturiser.
  • Sinks into the skin - leaving it smooth.
  • Keeps Make-up in place.

Maybelline Primer.
  •  Feels light but heavier than moisturiser.
  • Sinks into the skin but you can still feel a smooth silk feeling.
  • Keeps make-up in place
There's not much difference between the two but with Maybelline's primer you can feel a silkiness on the skin almost like a very thin barrier on the skin which is great as primers are used to protect your skin from Make-up and help it stay put.
Rimmel's primer sinks into the skin but leaves it feeling ever so smooth meaning your make-up blends with no effort.

I'd recommend Rimmel's primer with no hesitation at all and I do think I'll be buying this once it runs out as I like how it makes my skin feel bright and smooth.
My mama prefers Maybelline's primer only because she can feel a different type of smoothness to her skin which she prefers and that's fine. Different people, different preferences! :)
Packaging.
I've mentioned above haha....I think it looks boring, nothing really catches my eye so I wouldn't look twice at it but as people say don't judge a book by it's cover! :)

5 in 1 Results on the front. Smoothes. Resurfaces. Brightens. Mattifies and Protects.

Verdict.
I'm going to mark this an 8/10. It feels lovely on the skin and keeps make-up in it's place but shine does start showing around the nose and chin area from around mid-day. If you're a girl on the go take some powder with you or blotting paper just for little touch-ups throughout the day.

You can buy this from Boots for £6.99.

As always make sure you check out Rimmel's website for info about new products at: http://www.rimmellondon.com/uk/
And you can also find and 'like' them on facebook where they give you all the latest updates on-the-go at: http://www.facebook.com/rimmellondon
Let me know what you think! Comment and tell me! I reply to every person who comments...do you love or hate using primer! I want to know!!! :)

Lots of love..Layla xxx

MaxFactor Xperience foundation review!

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well and having a good start to the week!

Well today I'm going to be reviewing a MaxFactor product and you may have seen me talk about this on an older post but I didn't review it properly and as MaxFactor have been really kind they sent me the product to review so thank you very much to MaxFactor!! :)

I'll be writing about MaxFactor's xperience (lightweight) foundation in colour Brown Hessian #75.

MaxFactor Xperience foundation.
When this first came out I noticed how quickly it started to get really good reviews and I was impressed as I hadn't seen a foundation in those few months get the amount of good reviews in such a short period of time.

So me being me, I went to Boots and bought it for my mama as she really wanted it after seeing the advert and of course she let me use it haha! :)

When I gave it to her it had already been opened (by me) and I was wearing it even though I couldn't feel it...so far I loved it.
My mum looked at my skin and said it looked lovely and natural, it had blended so well with my skintone it was like I wasn't wearing anything.
That's the type of look I like, natural looking skin and I either play up my eyes or my lips never both. My nails...it's a different story...

I liked the feel of the product, it lasted all day, no patches appeared and it really does feel lightweight but the only thing that lets it down slightly is the fact it doesn't give enough coverage.

Next was my mama's turn to try it so I sat her down, applied primer and then applied the foundation to her skin using a foundation brush and blending it around the nose area with my ring finger.
After 2 minutes her skin looked youthful and very healthy. I asked her how it felt and she couldn't believe how lightweight it felt but agreed she would have liked a little bit more coverage.

All in all it's a wonderful product, if you love the natural look then this is for you and if you like not feeling any make-up on your skin then definitely buy this!

Packaging.
It's really simple. The black gives it a clean yet mysterious look and the green just adds the pop of colour and it's the X shape for the MaxFactor logo. I also like the way you can see the colour of the foundation in the clear rectangle just below the colour and product number information.

Brown Hessian #75 - the little clear box where you can see the colour of the foundation.

Verdict.
I'm going to give this a 9/10 as it's a lovely product but doesn't give that coverage I would have liked. The ideal product for me is something that feels lightweight but also covers any blemishes and scars.
This didn't cover as much as I would have liked but it did feel lightweight.
If you're not that bothered about covering the odd blemish or if you're just starting out with make-up and don't like the heavy feeling this is the foundation that I would recommend.

You can pick up yours from Boots or Superdrug for £9.99.

Make sure you check out MaxFactor's website at: http://www.maxfactor.co.uk/ for all the latest info on new products and colours!

Have you tried this foundation? If you have what did you think of it? Did you love it?
The next Maxfactor review is going to be the Ageless Elixir foundation. I'm really looking forward to this oneso make sure you keep checking the blog! :)

BarryM Crackle Nail Polish Review!!

Hello everyone...well it's sunday evening in London and I've decided to sit down and write another post (after eating a lovely roast dinner)...this time it's not for Rimmel or for Maxfactor (tomorrow I'll be writing about a Maxfactor foundation) today I'm going to be writing about Barry M's instant nail effects crackle nail polish!!

BarryM crackle nail polish painted over the metallic purple polish which I talk about in the picture below.

Well I didn't really know what to think when I first heard about a nail polish that 'shatters' I thought huh!? But after seeing it a few times I started to really like the look and went to Boots to check it out.
I was wearing a red/pink nail polish so decided to test the black.

After painting my nail after about 3 seconds (precise) it started to shatter....it was the weirdest thing I'd ever seen...funny but at the same time weird haha. The end result looked great so I decided to buy it! ( I just can't help myself....sometimes I feel like Becky Bloomwood from confessions of a shopaholic!)

Walking to the till proudly, I handed over the nail polish, paid and left and without really thinking headed home to go and paint my nails!! Once I got home, I removed my 'old' nail polish and re-painted them...yes base coat and all but instead of the red/pink nail polish it was a metallic purple polish I picked up when I was in Greece.

Once my nails had dried I looked at them...they looked funky but I didn't like the feeling (although I got used to it a few days later) even with a top coat you could still feel the bumps from where the polish had shattered.

Gabrini...the metallic purple polish I picked up in Greece painted under the BarryM shatter polish.

I liked it...a lot! So after painting my nails I left and carried on with my day and when I returned home late at night I looked at my nails and they looked better than before. One thing I've realised with this nail polish is that it dries instantly and also makes the base and colour under it dry quickly too so if you want your nails to look fashionable quickly paint on any colour you love with this over it and run out the house....instant glamour and no chance of smudging!

The other thing I really liked with this is even if you nails chip you really cannot tell just because the way the polish shatters...it blends in and at least your nails always look neat and you can get away with not doing your nails for that extra day so more time for you to have fun!

One downside to this was how quickly it became clumpy...each time you paint a nail it's best to put the lid back on and shake the bottle gently.

Packaging.
As always I can't really say much about a nail polish bottle...it's simple, clear, the BarryM logo listed on the top and I like the shatter effect on the top of the wand too. On the bottom of the bottle you have the number of the polish.

Verdict.
I really like this so I'm going to give it a 8/10. It dries quickly so you're not likely to smudge it but it dries too quickly when you're painting your nails. The wand isn't amazing either but it's a lot better than some of the brands out there. All in all it is a very good product, you give a twist to your nails and instantly add some glamour in little time so I would definitely recommend this to my friends and add more colours to the collection!
The next thing I'm going to try is paint my nails white and paint the black crackle over it...I think it'll look amazing!!

You can buy this from Boots for £3.99 so if you like adding a twist to your nails then head down to boots and buy it!!

Also check out BarryM website for updates about new products at: http://www.barrym.com/

Let me know if you've tried this polish and what you think! Have you created some lovely designs...let me know!! :)

Rimmel GlamEyes Eyeliner Review!

Hello again...two posts in one day! :)

Well this review is a tiny bit different due to the fact it's not an eyeshadow...it's not a nail polish or lipgloss or mascara for that matter it's actually an eyeliner review!!! Yes it's different to the normal posts I normally write about but don't worry this will be just as good!

It's Rimmel's Glameyes eyeliner in black glamour #001 and I'm actually looking round the room to find it as I type and I seem to have misplaced it...oh oh!

GlamEyes Black Glamour #001 eyeliner.
I never really took a fancy to liquid eyeliners when I first heard about them and when I tried to do a line for the very first time (I was about 14 years old) I couldn't!!! I kept making myself look like a clown.......but as they say 'practice makes perfect' over time...I got there!

So the time came to review/test the eyeliner and what I noticed first was how thin the brush is....I don't think I've ever seen an eyeliner brush this thin and wasn't sure if it would be easy to draw the line.
Slightly hesitant I started to draw along my upper lashline and it wasn't easy....the brush isn't firm and you don't feel like you have much control.
The wand....very thin - sorry about the shadow! :s
I took a step back from the mirror to see the line properly - slightly wonky....I wasn't impressed. I did my other eye and it was a little bit better. Not the best product I've tested from Rimmel though.
The same afternoon I took my make up off and tried again just in case it was me that needed to get used to the brush...slightly better but not like other eyeliners I've tried.
Here's the eyeliner - the one time I was happy with it without going over it with a kohl pencil.

Packaging.
It's really simple and cute, the writing is swirly and girlie (ha that rhymes!) and the silver writing looks lovely against the black.
That's all I can really say about the packaging...oh and on the back it say's eye-liner liquide professionel and in case you're wondering yes I found the eyeliner on my bed haha! :)

Verdict.
I thought this eyeliner would be better. I like the look of it and tha silver swirly (girlie) writing would have made me want to buy it either way because it's pretty but the wand really let this product down in my opinion. I would have given this a 10/10 if the brush was a tiny bit thicker and firmer because it lasts all day, doesn't smudge if you accidentally rub your eyes throughout the day and the colour was really nice too, it was a proper black not a watery black!
But my verdict is going to be a 6/10 just because the brush wasn't thick enough or firm enough.

If you like the really thin lined look then this is for you without a doubt but only if you are an amazing expert at applying eyeliner or if you're happy to go over it with a pencil to even out any wonkiness (is that even a word!?)
I'm sure there will be people that LOVE this and people that don't....I'm in between the two because I don't mind going over it with a kohl pencil to give it an even look but I don't think I'd buy this again...I'd try a different eyeliner from Rimmel and see which suited me better!

If you love the thin eyed look head down to your local Boots store and pick it up for £5.29!

Rimmel review - Match Perfection Cream Gel Foundation!!

Hello lovely readers and new followers! It's lovely to be able to write and share the reviews with you and I love logging on and reading new comments!! It always puts a smile on my face and of course I reply to each and every person that comments or asks a question! :)

This next review is going to be about Rimmel's foundation in TRUE IVORY #103. It's the Match perfection cream gel foundation.
Before even reading the label I immediatley assumed it was going to be heavier than the liquid foundation but I was actually wrong as I was about to find out!!

Match perfection....the colour is really nice and the letters shimmer! :)

Colour- True Ivory #103
Once you unscrew the lid you come to a little white cap which you normally get in moisturisers and I can only assume it's to protect the liquid/cream/gel from any bacteria.

The little white cap to protect the foundation.
I quite like the white cap being there as a protector because it shows that Rimmel have thought about their product and how they can make it mre hygienic because lets face it with this you either dip your foundation brush straight into it or a sponge or your fingers!!
Not that many people will get a tiny spatula and put it on the back of their hand. ( For the record I actually do have a little white spatula thats in my make-up kit for moisturiser, foundations and different creams as I work on so many people and have to keep everything clean!
So back to the point- it's nice to see Rimmel have given thought to this product.

The next thing I want to point out is the texture...it feels like a thick water if that makes sense....it doesn't feel heavy. It feels light and blends in with your skin in seconds! This product really does what is says...it matches the skin tone and texture.
As I said above I thought it would be quite sticky and heavy....it's really not...it's like applying a lightweight tinted moisturiser. It seems to blend in with your skin quicker than a certain lizard does with it's surroundings.

The cover is great too....for me this covers better than the liquid version. I have a little scar on my cheek from a blemish I had ( I had really bad skin about a year ago..but it's fine now)  and it covered it immediately so that really impressed me! :)

The foundation stayed put all day, it only went shiny around my nose and I had slight patches on my cheeks but towards the end of the day when I was returning to my home sweet home so I wasn't too bothered but if I was going out that evening I would have needed either blotting paper or a little tinted powder just to go over my nose area.

Packaging.
The packaging of this foundation is lovely, it's a little container so girls that don't have time to do their make-up at home or want to top-up throughout the day can easily have it in their bags without it being heavy or too big.
It also looks really cute in make-up kits and purses because you catch that hint of blue every now and again which seems to be a soothing colour to me....it reminds me of purple which reminds me of lavender which I love the smell of.....my mind works in weird ways!! :p
And I LOVE the way the letters shine :)

Verdict.
I really liked this foundation and I'm going to mark it 8/10. It doesn't feel heavy at all...gave me the coverage I wanted whilst still looking very natural ( I hate the fake look). The only thing letting it down was the little bit of shine I had at the end of the day and the ever so slight patching on my cheeks. It didn't bother me that much as I was going home but I would have had to blott it or apply powder over the area if I was going out that evening.

Over the liquid foundation and this foundation I can't really choose because they both have their good qualities...the liquid version did give some coverage but not as much as this.
I would reccomend this to girls with dry/normal skin. Oily skin I would say use the liquid version with a little powder once you've applied it.

You can buy this from Boots for: £6.99 and I think theres a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment so make sure you head down to your local store or check it out online!
