Official Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation Review!!!!

Good Evening everyone!!

I hope you're all well and relaxing, watching some cheesy TV shows and eating lots of food and maybe having a cheeky glass of wine like I was a few minutes ago before I started writing this post!! :)

Well I know it has been a few days coming but I've finally managed to edit my photos and write up the official Rimmel wake me up foundation which is fronted by Kate Moss.

Following the lipsticks that were launched by Rimmel & Kate Moss I was looking forward to reviewing this as soon as I heard about it and hoped it would be as good as the lipstick was.

I woke up once morning to see a little packet in the letter box and there it was the wonderful foundation!
Opening the package like a little child on Christmas morning I saw the bottle.....I liked it!
Rimmel Wake Me Up Kate Moss Foundation Review!

As you can see in the picture above the cap colour instantly stands out....it's a deep orange that reminds me a little bit of a sunset!

I tried the foundation right away after my skin care routine and applying primer (Never forget the primer!!) I didn't feel anything.
I was applying a product that was as light as air, I actually had to do a double take and check my foundation brush to make sure I had actually applied the product.

This foundation is sooooooo lightweight you don't feel like you're wearing anything but what you do end up with is a gorgeous, glowing complexion.
The majority of you will know I HATE products that you can feel on your skin and this is right at the top of the new-foundation must-have list!

Any girls out there that want a natural look but also coverage to hide any little blemishes then this is the foundation for you. it makes your skin look healthy, glowing and radiant without the feeling of wearing make-up!!
Brilliant! :D

The other thing I would like to point out with this foundation is the pump.
I like foundations that have a pump as this stops the risk of spreading bacteria because you don't touch the product straight from the bottle!

Rimmel Foundation pump and cap with Rimmel logo.
I also like the Rimmel logo on the lid ( as seen in the picture above) It's not over the top and looks quirky on your dressing table!

My foundation shade is 303 true nude wake me up foundation.

In the photo above you can see how the foundation looks on my skin, yes it does look a little darker but I can assure you any foundation will look darker on the skin of your hand, that's why I recommend 'testing' a  new foundation on your jawline.

If it blends to your skintone almost immediately then it's a perfect match! Otherwise chuck it in the bin! :)
My verdict on this foundation would be a 9/10 as it blends with your skin almost immediately and makes skin look (almost) airbrushed, gorgeous and dewy.
Plus it feels like you're wearing absolutely nothing on your skin!!

If you want to see or learn anymore about Rimmel's new or older products then you can click the link.
If you have tried Rimmel's wake me up foundation then please comment and let me know your thoughts!
If you love another foundation let me know!!!
I want to hear from all you lovely readers out there!! :)

The official Nicki Minaj and OPI range review!!

Hello to all you lovely readers!!

I hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend....I cannot believe how quickly this month is going....it feels like yesterday I was writing to wish everyone a happy new year and now it's almost February!! :O

As some of you may have seen on here and on my Facebook page OPI (Lena White - UK OPI supplier) has sent me a gorgeous colour to review from Nicki Minaj's new range with OPI!

I couldn't wait to see which colour i was being sent and when it came through I was in love!
Fly is a gorgeous turquoise, greeny bluey colour with a hint of grey mixed in somewhere...it's lovely and not like any other colour I've seen before.

When you look at the colour through the bottle you really don't get the full benefit, you have to apply it and then you'll see what an unusual but beautiful colour it is.
Left - Fly by OPI  Middle - Avoplex oil  Right - Nail Envy

As you can see in the photo above these are the products I like to use for my nails.
The oil in the middle is OPI Avoplex oil, I like the feeling of it as it instantly makes my nails and cuticle area look good and healthy.

I tend to use this when I remove my nail polish, I brush the oil on each nail and massage it into the cuticle area.
If I have time I'll then put some warm-hot water in a little bowl and add a few drops of this oil and soak my nails in it which is great if you're having a pamper night!
My must-have to get healthy, strong nails is the bottle on the right, that's the OPI nail envy which I purchased a few weeks back and I have to say it has made a difference to my nails, it's made my nails longer and is a great base coat (and top coat).
Close up of the colour!
A beautiful colour! I really don't know how to explain the colour, it's a turquiose, greeny, bluey colour with an undertone of grey.
It truly is a lovely colour for the winter to brighten up your mood and clothes and I would say it'll be a colour that will take your right through to spring!
I can totally imagine myself in jeans, flip flops and a little vest top wearing this colour!

All the products used and Fly by OPI

And here is the final photo with the products I used to get the look and shine.
The little bottle in the middle with the red cap is Mavala hardener.
That used with the Nail envy will give you strong, hard, longer nails in about 3 weeks.

I like using Mavala 1-2 times a week on a clean nail as it instantly gets soaked up by the nail...litteraly seconds and it's dry. Then I apply one coat of the nail envy and wait for it to fully dry and it's as simple as that!

Sometimes I'll leave my nails for a few days without applying any colours and just re-apply nail envy every other day and within 2-3 weeks your nails will look great, feel stronger and be waiting for you to apply any colour of your choice to show off!

If you have read the post to see what it's like considering chiping and how long-lasting this polih is then I have to say so far it's going well. I've been wearing it for 3 days and I have yet to see any signs of chips starting!
I have been doing the washing up as normal and i'm suprised at how well it's lasted!
I applied a base coat of nail envy, then two coats of fly and finally another top coat of nail envy for extra shine!

If you have fallen in love with Fly then you can purchase it from

Let me know what you think of the colour and the products!
Have you tried any of the products above and if so did they work for you?

Keep checking back for other product reviews as I have some lovely products coming up!!

BarryM Glitter Nail Polish Review!!

Hello everyone!! hope you're all having a lovely weekend!
I am very proud to say that the BarryM Glittery nail polish review is finally here!!

BarryM glitter nail polish
Well I absolutely LOVE this colour...it's gorgeous, bright and really fun to wear! It makes silver jewellery stand out...actually let me re-phrase that, this nail polish brings an outfit together, it's brilliant!!

If you do buy glitter nail polish from BarryM and find that it's coming off, flaking throughout the day make sure you have applied a top coat, not a thin coat but a thick coat (where you can actually see the drop on the brush).
Yes it takes longer to dry but once you've applied top coat this will not budge!!

I tried to remove it this afternoon and I ended up going through half a packet of cotton wool pads and 1/3 of a bottle of nail polish remover!!

One tip I will give you is if you can't remove it with the cotton wool pads and remover soak your fingers in a bowl of lukewarm/hot slightly soapy water.
This will soften the glitter polish and should help you remove it easier.

I tried this without top coat the first few times I used it to see how long it would last and found that it flaked during the first day sometimes even the first few hours of wearing it but once you apply a top coat (as i've mentioned above) it does NOT come off easily so definitely wear a top coat.

Application isn't the easiest thing either and I've found that you can't really apply it like normal nail polish, you have to apply it as I've said to apply the top coat, you need to see the drop of polish on the brush and then apply/dab it on to get a smooth even finish.....otherwise it'll end up looking streaky which isn't good!
Let me know if you've tried glitter polishes and what you think....which brand is your favourite and what colours do you like?? :)

Make-up tip - How to apply foundation.

Hello!
Well it's Monday again....time flies so fast especially during the weekend don't you think??

I was thinking what to write about earlier and as I walked into my room a foundation brush rolled of my beauty desk......the little lightbulb above my head switched on and I decided to write a post about foundation brushes, the uses and different ways to apply your foundation.

            How to apply foundation.

Here are a number of questions I get asked regularly!
  •  What's the point of a foundation brush?
A.  Foundation brushes are mainly used to apply foundation but can also be used to blend colours and different types of make-up.
By applying your foundation with a brush you get more of an airbrushed, polished look but other people like to use their fingers to make sure the make-up has blended with the skin.
  • What do you prefer to use?
A. I like to use a foundation brush all over the skin and then use my ring finger to make sure the make-up has blended with the skin around the nose, eye and sometimes chin area.

  • Why do some people use their fingers only?
A. I can't answer 100% but from what I've heard from other make-up artists they like to use their fingers because they get the 'feel' of make-up and assume that it looks more natural.
Here are some points as to why I don't use just my fingers.
  1. You need to use more product.
  2. Touching the skin increases shine and oil which means more breakouts.
  3. Spreads bacteria (the same can be said for using brushes but not if you clean them properly)
  •  Any industry tips or tricks?
A. Yes I do!!! If you want a dewy glow or if you feel like your foundation is too heavy on your skin dampen your brush slightly before you apply your foundation. This will actually give you a dewy finish and also make your foundation feel lighter on the skin! Result!
  • How and when should I clean my make-up brushes?
A. I clean my make-up brushes after each and every time I use them on myself and when I'm working on a fashion show I have lots of make-up brushes so only use them once on each person( I am a very clean person haha!).
I also like using disposable brushes especially for lipgloss and mascara!
I clean my brushes in hot-soapy water and use Anti-Bacterial Fairy liquid which cuts through any grease or oils and kills 99.9% germs!
Affordable and easy!
Well I hope that this post will help you with how to apply foundation, getting a dewy look and how to look after and clean your brushes!
Let me know!! :)

Are Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis Heading For A Split??

Hello everyone!!

Well some of you may have seen my very short post on tumblr where I wrote about Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis.

The rumours have started again that the couple are heading for a split after 14 years together.

Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis

As I've mentioned on tumblr some US reports have claimed that the couple are 'Constantly Bickering' and friends have said they are worried because the couple have gone from 'Bad to worse'
Well I think we will have to wait and see what's going to happen over the next few hours and/or days.....the reason I say hours is because things happen quite fast in Hollywood!!

Let me know what you think....I've already had a few people say they are quite sad if the news about Johnny and Vanessa is true.

Anyway, I should have the new post on here tomorrow!!
