OPI Nail Trends!

I hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend!
I know a lot of the posts recently have been about nail polish and different designs but I cannot get enough of the latest trends!

I love sitting at home when I'm not busy creating different looks and as OPI sent me this recently I decided to write a post on it!

OPI Nail trends and designs - 2012

Yes nail art is the new lipstick....if you think about it everyone loves experimenting with their nails and wearing the latest colour trends and doing unique designs....OK maybe it's not the same as lipstick because we don't walk out the house with green and black crackle lipstick but you know what I mean! haha...

Nail polish is on the rise and with new technology always being developed it's a brilliant way to make a statement!

As pictured above graffiti style is basically crackle over your favourite colour.
The lovely thing about crackle is how easy it is to create a unique, cool look and each nail is slightly different with the way the crackle cracks.
Plus it's good so if you get a chip it won't be as obvious as with block colour....clever thinking! :)

I love Hollywood glamour which is glitter over your nail polish....I haven't tried the designs above but I'm in love with the blue design which is glitter on the tip of the nails and then fades halfway.
A lovely trend which I'll definitely be trying!! :)

Which is your favourite design, colour or trend? Let me know!!
As always if you like OPI you can purchase it in the UK from Lena White and here is the link.

Make sure you check out the blog in the next few days as I have some wonderful news to share with you all! :)

BeautyUK Urban Jungle Nail Polish Review!!

Hello everyone! I hope you're all well and having a good week so far...not too long till the weekend!
I've got some very exciting news coming up so make sure you keep checking back!

Well today I'm going to be writing about BeautyUK's lovely Urban Jungle nail polish which I mentioned in my other post about BeautyUK's falsh lash-fx mascara!

When I first saw this type of colour in shops (not this brand) I have to say I didn't like it at all....I thought it was a weird colour in between green and grey and not quite a khaki, it didn't appeal to me at all and that lasted for months until one day it started growing on me.

Last week I got sent this colour and was looking forward to trying it not realising how lovely the colour was.

I removed my nail polish, applied my base coat and then two coats of urban jungle....I liked it!

It's a proper khaki colour with the most subtle hints of grey in the base...not like other brands where you don't know if it's green, khaki, grey or brown...no this was a proper gorgeous khaki which compliments every skintone!

Once I'd made sure the polish had dried I applied OPI's nail envi nail strengthener as a top coat and protector for my nails.

I admired my nails for about 10 minutes and I made my mind up...this is my 'it' colour for when I want a statement but not to be over the top.

BeautyUK Urban Jungle polish.
The real test was yet to come...how long would it last!?
Normally nail polishes last 2 days maximum and a chip would start appearing but this lasted 4 full days until I saw a chip!

It's hard wearing and glossy looking like you just stepped out the nail salon!
Before you ask yes I did the washing up, had a shower every day, did housework and this nail polish did NOT budge!!!!!

I was extremely impressed with how well this lasted....4 whole days with NO chips appearing on the polish. (yes I sound like a broken record haha)

This gets a 9/10 from me for colour and chip resistance but the brush could have been slightly wider for a more even, easier application.
Although for the BARGAIN price of £1.99 you cannot go wrong...buy several colours and go wild!
Create your own designs, mix and match colours  and try the ring finger trend.

I love this colour and predict it'll be a nail trend during spring 2012!
If you don't fancy mixing colours or trying the ring finger trend then all you need to do is wear your favourite ring, simple or statement and it'll look gorgeous!!!

I just want to say BeautyUK well done...for £1.99 you've brought us gorgeous nail polishes with a wonderful selection of colours that last for days!

I already love a gorgeous electric blue from BeautyUK which I've reviewed, a lovely pastely purple, bright pink and I know I'll be going out and adding lots more to my ever-growing collection of nail polishes!

If you love BeautyUK make sure you check out their website at: www.beautyukcosmetics.com
Or you can follow them on twitter: @beautyuktweets

Also if you want to purchase any lovely products from BeautyUK make sure you head down to Superdrug, Internationale and Select stores!

Official BeautyUK False Lash-FX Mascara Review!!!

Hello all you gorgeous readers!! :)

I hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend!
I know I haven't updated anyone but this week I was sent some lovely products from BeautyUK to review on here which is very exciting! :)

The package came through and as always I'm like a child on christmas day opening presents! haha...

It was presented in a lovely bright pink envelope (which instantly made me smile) and there was a lovely letter inside and 2 lovely looking products!

The 2 products were - a mascara (which is this review) and a lovely nail polish (which I'll be writing up in the next few days)

The mascara is called False Lash - FX and is in an adorable white tube with bright pink writing which I think will look lovely on every beauty junkies make-up table/make-up bag!

BeautyUK False Lash-FX Mascara with the lovely pink writing and design! :)

You don't normally see white packaging for a mascara tube (I've only seen one which is only on sale on QVC) so this was a delight to look at as it stands out and instantly catches your eye with the pretty design and colour....so far I liked it!

I applied my make-up as normal and when it came to apply my mascara I decided to use this as I wanted to see what look it would give me and how it would feel.

I applied the first coat and could see that my lashes looked lovely, long and dark but not as thick as I would have liked so I decided to apply another coat to my lashes and got even longer, darker looking lashes but again not as thick as I would have liked.

The wand which acts like a comb giving you long, dark lashes with NO clumps!
The wand is one thing I need to mention.

It's the best thing about this mascara, as you can see in the picture (above) the wand is like a mini-comb and gently brushes each lash giving you a lovely defined look without ANY clumps.

I've tried a lot and when I say a lot I mean a lot of mascaras this is the first one that's cheap, doesn't give you any clumps and instantly gives you longer, darker, polished lashes.
When I say polished I mean clean, defined and lovely looking :)

I didn't have to re-apply this at all, my lashes still looked lovely when it came to the end of the day.
Yes the time had come for me to remove every little trace of make-up, stick my hair in a high bun, chill in my pj's, watch tv and eats lots of ice cream....haha yep attractive! :s

Verdict.
I'm pleasantly suprised at how lovely my lashes looked when I applied false lash- fx!!
If you're a person that likes the natural look this if definitely for you.
If you like your lashes to have a long, defined look then again this is definitely for you.

If you want thicker, long lashes then what I would say is apply your favourite mascara as normal and then for added length apply one coat of this which will lengthen your lashes and brush out any clumps!! Plus it lasts ALL day!

For £3.99 this is an absolute bargain!! You can mix and match different mascaras for different types of looks so I would say to have this somewhere in your beauty kit!

I will be recommending this to my friends as I can honestly say that all of them will enjoy using this mascara in one way or another....either applying it after their normal mascara for a longer, defined look or wearing it as their primary mascara!

I'm in love with the pretty design! :)
If you would like to find out more about BeautyUK you can do so by checking out their website.
www.beautyukcosmetics.com

You can also follow them on twitter:  @beautyuktweets

As I've said above for £3.99 this is a bargain and should be in every beauty junkies make-up kit!
So head out to Superdrug and buy your mascara! :)

Make sure you check back in the next few days as I'll be reviewing the gorgeous 'Urban Jungle' nail polish from BeautyUK too!

Let me know if you've tried this and what your thoughts are too!
I'd love to hear from you and will reply to every comment :)

Adorable River Island Lips Purse!

I'm having a total moment with River Island...I'm loving their range now..it's cute, fun and girly with a bit of a rock edge!

There's some gorgeous vest tops, ripped jeans and on the other hand some gorgeous skirts and blouses which will be perfect for the spring months!

The one thing that has caught my eye and I NEED to buy like tomorrow (really) is this fun purse...perfect for valentines day too!

River Island lips purse!

As soon as I saw it I had to write about it and the best thing is it's only £8.00!!! Yes only £8.00!!

I haven't seen it in 'real life' yet so it may be small and only be able to hold a few things but still a note and a lipstick is all you need to carry in this...or just stick it in your bag to make you smile each time you see it!! :)

Let me know what you think....love or hate!?

Rimmel 1000 Kisses Liptint & Lipbalm Official Review!!!

Hello everyone!! Well this is my first post from my iPad so I'm hoping itll look ok and won't auto correct some words to random words making the post un-readable.....(if that's even a word)

This is the review about Rimmel's 1000 kisses lip tint and balm!! I like lip tints but have found that they don't last as long as they say.....as soon as you drink a cup of coffee or have a sandwich off comes the tint so here is my review!

The same day the wake me up foundation came so did this and when I tested the foundation I tested this too (I'm also wearing both now as I type!

Rimmel 1000 Kisses liptint & lipbalm review

So once I had finished applying my wake me up foundation, bronzer/blusher , mascara I had now reached lips....I normally just apply a clear lip balm but today I was going to add colour and wear 1000 kisses lip tint

Using the wand like a lip liner brush (as you will see in the picture below) I lined my lips and then coloured in the rest ( its like being a child and colouring in your colour book.....outline then fill in the rest haha!!)

Rimmel 1000 kisses - the wand/brush side

Letting it fully dry I then applied the clear lip balm that comes with this, one side it's the wand and the other side it's the clear lip balm!
I loved this feature as its not often you'll find lip tints having a lip balm and if you do it's separate, this is good for girls on the go that don't want to have too many things in their bag.....funnily enough thats me but somehow I still manage to carry everything but the kitchen sink in my bag!!

Rimmel 1000 Kisses Liptint - Lipbalm end.

Once I was happy I headed out to test the product and a happy thought entered my mind.....food and coffee....Starbucks was the obvious first stop!!
I just find it a shame that they're not on every corner like I've heard they are in New York.....

Once I'd ordered my hazelnut hot chocolate with cream on top (yes fatty you might say) plus my mozzarella pannini and a rocky road just for a bonus I sat and ate it all and then took my hot chocolate (in a takeaway cup) and carried on with my day.
I checked a mirror and could see that the colour was still there but not as strong as when I applied it...never mind we have the rest of the day to see how well and how long it would last.

As the day went on the colour seemed to fade and by the time I had returned to the place I call home it had completely vanished.

I would say this would be absolutely gorgeous for a night out and a lovely pop of colour to wear throughout the day but you would need to re-apply.

I will definitely recommend this to friends if they were looking for a good quality lip tint plus you get a lip balm too which is a bonus as it does help to keep lips looking and feeling smooth especially in these winter months!

If you want to check out other colours and new products straight from Rimmel make sure you check out their website at: http://www.rimmellondon.com/uk/landingpage/

Let me know what you think of this lip tint if you've tried it and which is your favourite colour!!!
I have some cool things coming up so make sure you check back and find out!!!

Marks & Spencer Nail Polish Review & Some Statement Jewellery!!

Hello everyone well it's been a few days since I've written the post about Rimmel's wake me up foundation and it seems to have been one of the most popular posts in regards to emails from several people and comments.
If you've purchased it after reading the review let me know your thoughts on it!!

Now though I'll be writing about a gorgeous yellow nail polish from Marks&Spencer which I bought a few weeks back.
It's a subtle baby yellow that compliments all skintones and just adds a little bit of colour without being over the top.

A gorgeous baby yellow Marks & Spencer Nail polish
The bottle is very simple, it's not like other brands which have their logo as the main point on the bottle....someone might see this and think it doesn't have a logo, it's not one of the 'high street' brands so it's not going to be good but I can assure you it lasts just as long as any other brand out there!

As always make sure you use a base and top coat as this will protect the colour, nail and also add a healthy shine!
If you have weak nails use a strengthener underneath like OPI Nail Envy or Mavala (which is my fave as it gets absorbed quickly meaning your nails dry quicker!!)

Nail trends, create a funky look and add a statement ring!
You can add a statement ring in a different colour to create a unique look as pictured above!

I like trying different brands and colours of nail polish and so far they all seem to last the same-ish amount....OPI probably lasts a day or so longer without one single chip appearing!

Let me know what your favourite nail colours are and which brands you prefer!

The next post will be another Official review for Rimmels brand new Liptint that's double sided....liptint on one end and lip balm on the other....it's so funky and cool! :)
